I already pointed out that Britt's "analysis" somehow overlooked most of the totalitarianism of the past century. But then the Left has spent fifty years now trying to convince the perpetually gullible that Stalin and Hitler were two opposite ends of a spectrum instead of two sides of the same coin.
If we actually lived in anything remotely resembling a fascist society, people like Britt wouldn't dare write about it. It's amazing how much crap l read about how oppressive and dangerous our society is for "free thinkers" and those "courageous" enough to march down the street in front of news cameras, face uncovered, with a poster of the president having sex with a goat. You think even one of these idiots sleeps less soundly the next night? They know very well what the truth is--they live in the one nation on Earth where almost any form of expression is not only tolerated but protected at the highest level by the overriding law of the land. These aren't freedom fighters on the barricades. They're playing, like kids playing soldier with wooden guns.
MSNBC commenter Larry O'Donnell had a nice, furious rant about Mormonism on the McLaughlin group. An interviewer later asked him what about the Muslims? The man practically peed himself. An "activist's" or "artist's" courage can be measured by the subjects he carefully avoids.
I've seen real oppression in places like Burma, China, and many others. I've seen what happens to the people there who stand up against it. You have no idea what real fascism is, or what real courage is.
You wouldn't happen to be the same "secular humanist" who haunts Kevin Drum's site from time to time?
Incidentally, you also have no idea who Mary Anne is, and calling her a "fascist" is the funniest thing I've heard all year. She's way too civilized to rip you one you could throw a cat through. Some of us aren't.
