I'm just happy the franchise isn't kaput. Aside from a couple of the movies, I've never met a Trek I didn't like. My guess is that Abrams and crew will do as good a job as anyone...although I must admit a little disappointment over Cloverfield which, although kinda fun in spots and technically *very* slick, was really nothing to write home about (Abrams produced).
Apparently he likes to use "viral websites," so there's this: http://www.ncc-1701.com. Not much too it yet, but apparently you can see different pics if you keep reloading (I've only seen the same three pics), and if you're really lucky you'll get a peek inside the new Enterprise.
From what I've read, ST-XI will have the biggest budget of any Trek project, and imho Abrams is a pretty talented storyteller...so I'm looking forward to it. We'll see.
