That just set off a lightbulb in my head......."higher realms of reality" from breathing the gases from a cave? LOL
I read the history of the Hickory Nut Gorge which is about 10 miles from here and absolutely gorgeous. Full of energy, ley lines even in one area. Bat Cave itself is the largest known granite fissure cave in North America, formed by rock splits, boulder movements, and other motions of the earth.
There was a time in the late 1800's when all the townsfolk living in the gorge witnessed a heavenly sight. Get this (eye witness accounts were recorded), but they apparently saw two armies of angels sitting on horses on both sides of the gorge, above the mountains....mounted on horses with their swords gleaming in the sun. They charged and a terrific battle ensued over the gorge. According to accounts, you could hear their swords clanging.
There are also rumors of the "little people" there, seen throughout so many decades, that it is folklore. There are still two living witnesses. You can even buy little clay figurines of these "little people" as a pocket charm. I also heard the Cherokee used to stay high in the hills to avoid them.
Do you think it's the cave gas that's doing it?
