Yes the Republicans love big spending...But not so they can cripple the economy.
On the contrary, they are afraid to cut spending because they don't believe their own rhetoric about cutting taxes being the best stimulis...
They fear that if they cut government spending the economy will go in the tank. And they fear losing ther re-election bids when the victims of fiscal responsibility start crying about terrible hardships they suffer as a result of said fiscal responsibility.
Democrats and Republicans are essentially one and the same on spending. the only difference one wants a little more spent on Military stuff.
