Economic credibility
The platform of the current Democratic Party calls for, in one form or another, nationalizing the health care system.
By even the most generous calculation, this would immediately add about $800-900 billion a year to the existing Federal entitlement budget. Less generous assumptions would be much worse. I notice nobody commented on my reference to the progress of the Massachussetts experiment.
Nobody can propose that and hold any claim to the idea of government fiscal restraint.
