re: TRY you? heck- I was COUNTING on you, TB....

I'm aware of the references.

If you recall, the implication in Noeske's work is that there is NO serious questioning by scientists. I don't buy that. I've cited them myself.

I've explained my own current position in previous posts. I am still looking at the information, and see no reason for the blind panic that is gripping so many on this issue.

Nor am I comfortable with the near-religious anger that meets anyone, including scientists, who question the premises at all.

In fact, this entire subject smacks so heavily of religious fervor that it's a bit spooky. Blasphemers are excommunicated. Indulgences can be purchased. There are prophets, and missionaries. Any opposition at all is the work of the devil (oil company funds).

I'd be a lot happier if the scientific "consensus" community came down half as hard on those claiming New York was going to be under ten feet of water as they do those who claim the water isn't going to rise at all. The hysteria is encouraged, and promoted, not judged on its merits or lack thereof.

I read the IPCC reports. Worst case scenarios given in there are nothing approaching what we're being sold in schools, TV specials, and newspaper columns.

I stand by my position that, other than the basic researchers, this entire issue is primarily being used as a political weapon.
