It reminds of the time in high school when I actually went to the library to double-check the incredibly volumnious footnotes justifying the "None Dare Call it Treason" tome that formed the ideological justification for the John Birch Society. Under scrutiny, they not only unraveled the original thesis, they provided strong evidence of a deliberate campaign to mislead the reader.
What would really be ironic is if it finally turns out that anthropogenic global warming IS greatly exaggerated, and that the shrill obfuscation of the denialists, when fully exposed, actually provokes draconic and unnecessary regulations that cause great hardship for no reason. Something very much like this happened with nuclear power.
And by the way, your list left out the Royal Academy of Science.
