Right now there are a lot more global warming proponents with their teeth in the jugular of Western industrial society than there are like you. Many of them in Congress, unfortunately. A lot of them are the same damn people who have been trying to bring the West down or enslave it on various pretenses for decades, this being just the latest rationale.

The most useful touchstone is their view on nuclear power. Any reasonable person serious about this supports nuclear power as a major part of the solution. The others will not, and in fact, will refuse to consider any solution that does not involve contraction and/or collapse of Western civilization, and submission of the means of productivity to their control.
