Contrary to conservative propaganda, liberals have no problem with the idea that government should be minimized, they just feel that the purpose of government is to prevent the abuse of non-governmental power, such as that exercised by tyrants, criminals, natural disasters, foreign enemies, and the business community. There is nothing wrong with the idea that government should be limited, but that does not mean it should be emasculated, especially when that hobbling is designed primarily to allow one faction or class to exercise power over the rest of the commonwealth.
"liberals have no problem with the idea that government should be minimized." You know, you keep SAYING this. Again, maybe we aren't using the same definitions for "minimized" and "limited." I honestly have no idea where you're getting this from.
You are welcome to point out ANY major liberal thinker or politician who believes ANY portion of our government--other than defense of course--should be limited or reduced in any way. On the other hand, I can find many, many liberals who think large sectors of our government should be vastly increased in size, and that the power of the state over private economic activity and individual freedom in this area is nowhere close to as strong as it should be.
Maybe you believe in minimal government personally, but I don't recall that you have ever posted anything to back that up, and if it's true, you can join that little group of "small government liberals" over there next to the little group of "pro-nuclear global warming activists."

"Minimized. Limited." You keep using those words. I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

- What about the Western elitist establishment?
- First, we should probably agree on a definition of elitism, as I don't think we were using the same one.
