That's the sort of feeling the greenies encourage - so that they can systematically increase their power and influence.
Energy can't be created and it can't be destroyed.
You can only change the molecular stucture of elements. Our planet recycles by default. It's, for all intents and purposes, impossible for it to lose "energy."
There is no energy shortage, and there will never be an energy shortage. Humans live in compartmentalized boxes with small perspectives and succumb to fear, guilt and insecurity when conditioned by social elements to do so. Like Pavlov's trained dogs, some folks now worry when they leave the faucet running or their sprinklers - even though the water is just moving from one part of the planet to another and none of it is lost.
The same is true with oil, coal and gas. The "consumption" of these merely converts them into new elements which feed nature in various ways, either as chemicals that breakdown and spur decay or which directly feed the biology of the planet. Until the sun explodes mankind will always have more energy than it knows what to do with.
The problem is not with energy - it is with man.
We could easily provide enough fresh water for a trillion people if so desired with the technologies for desalinization which exist.
But man, some greenies are already in "enlightened" CA set to enforce a toilet to tap recycling on the masses when far, far, FAR more INTELLIGENT ways of dealing with a shortage of fresh water presents to man globally.
The political left is all about retardation. Retarding growth, retarding industry and retarding western cultural development.
Their greatest tool is social guilt.
So the message for today...don't succumb. Push, unstintingly for progress in energy development technologies, never become a patsy for the retarding forces and their manipulation of emotion over intellect.
