Funny you should mention that. I started out watching CSPAN and feeling virtuous about it, but their rigid choice of a split screen showing Palin and Biden side-by-side finally drove me back to MSNBC, which showed each one fullscreen when speaking. It drove me bonkers to watch Palin mugging at the camera while Biden was speaking. She seemed to be subvocalizing-- her throat and jaw muscles were constantly working, and sometimes she seemed to be mocking Biden. The woman couldn't keep still, and I don't think it was unconscious. On display were all of her trademark mannerisms, what Amy Poehler as Katy Couric called "getting more adorable the more you get backed into a corner" (or words to that effect).
That said, she certainly exceed (extremely low) expectations, while I have to admit that I was disappointed that Biden let her walk all over him.

- The bar is low and the stakes very, very high for Palin. Reminds me of Nixon "Checkers" speech.
- I don't think anyone can say that Ifill sandbagged her.
- But then what's the mechanism for choosing a new running mate?
- Palin's cleaning Biden's clock. ;-) (n/t)

- And the left here thought Cheney lost to Edwards

- Good thing it wasn't the word 'change'
- Me, too...
