What the Republican Party really needs to do...

is broaden their horizons and start looking and acting more like the diverse American society in which we all live together.

Why do you suppose 95% of African-Americans vote Democratic?

Why do you suppose 75% of Hispanic Americans vote Democratic?

Why do you suppose 65% of Asian-Americans vote Democratic?

Why does Obama have a 15+ point lead among female voters?

A party consistently and seemingly endlessly dominated by lily-white, male-dominated (despite the token, hopelessly unqualified Sarah Palin) culturally monolithic conservatives is a party that's endangered in today's America and headed for extinction in tomorrow's America...

As a Democrat I'm delighted of course to win an election, but at the same time I realize that one-party rule, even if established democratically, isn't healthy at all for the nation long-term. It would be better for the country if outstanding leaders like Colin Powell were comfortable enough with their party not to have to flee in disgust and revulsion and vote Democratic. Rather than blame Powell, Republicans should be asking themelves when they'll have a party worthy and deserving of him.
