ER,
Much of your perception and appreciation of this political personage is embedded in features of your personal life and of the general social environment. To me your discussion opens a vista that subdues the little dramas surrounding the recent election.
To solve mounting world problems with sufficient rapidity, government will have to become more 'intelligent'. Since intelligence is more an emergence from the dynamic activity in the social environment than an expression of individual IQ, the question of what social constructs should be favored to take the lead becomes central. Iintelligence is a property not confined to a single human brain, but a network property.
A central concept in the approach to rapid change is the evolutionary cluster (a term coined by M. Mead); not the solitary genius, but the “least dispensable person†in interaction with a small group of co-workers and co-thinkers grappling with a crisis, becomes a model for leadership.
Inescapably, in speculative thought, Human-equivalent AI quickly occupies that office of “least dispensable person.†Any politician coming on the scene now must somehow mime such an entity (in anticipation of its actualization) to be successful.
