TB, why should I have to address the issues that are of such great concern to you? I am under no obligation to provide you with moral support for your crusades. I'm not even obliged to provide you with a debating partner so you can hone your skills. Sometimes I talk, and sometimes I argue, but I do it because its fun, not because I owe it to my political religion. And when it stops being fun I want to stop. Is that too much to ask? I enjoy talking with you, but sometimes you just can't take a hint.
You come here every day looking for a fight, but when you win you're never satisfied, when you lose you come back for more, and when nobody is around you throw a tantrum until you get some attention. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps everyone in the world isn't as obsessed with politics as you are? Frankly, I don't give a flying Mongolian fuck whether or not we get nationalized health care or if the global climate goes south. You see, there is nothing I can do about it one way or another. There are some things which it is pointless to get involved in because we simply cannot affect events, especially not in the few years we have left. Do I have opinions, will I be affected, will perhaps my life depend on what happens? Sure. Can I do anything about it? No.
Yeah, I can bitch and gripe, I can vote and politick, I can debate with total strangers about what should be done. But I can also worry about something else, too, if it's all right with you. Right now I'm much more concerned about whether or not I should go the expense of buying a digital camera because it makes my magazine editor's layout job easier.
Yep, the REALLY big decision in my life right now is should I spend a lot of money for something I don't want just to get the ego boost of seeing my name in print? Or should I just tell my editor "take my negatives and like it, or pay me more and I'll buy a camera." You see, TB; I have important issues to deal with, I don't really care about yours.
I have intellectual interests, some things strike my curiosity. I also have convictions and beliefs. What I don't have is a desperate emotional need for everyone else to either agree with me or go skulking off in disgrace. Whatever psychological void in you is filled by converting the world to your superstitions is simply not present in everyone else. We get aggravated with you not because we loathe your politics, but because you won't let us think about anything else. You're an anomalist TB, a religious fundamentalist, a UFO freak, an Atlantis and Bermuda Triangle fanatic, a grassy knoll gunman weenie. It's not your politics, it is your zeal I find intolerable. Grow up, TB, your political obsession is no longer a civic virtue, it's not even an evil philosophy. It's just a crashing bore.
