For decades this country has progressed steadily, with only a few small hiccups in the other direction, toward more concentration of power and wealth in the Federal government, and ever-tighter control of the private sector at almost every level.
With Obama's victory, many liberals are now drooling over the prospect of nationalizing our health care, putting the hammer down on corporations and the wealthy, and ushering in a new age of "progressivism." To be fair to our new president, it remains to be seen if Obama will deliver the goods to them or adopt a more balanced and reasonable policy.
If you have ever talked about any of these trends and thought maybe, just maybe, the brakes should be put on a bit, or had any issue where you did not think more regulation and control was the most likely solution, and that deregulation would be a disaster...
