The figures I cited addressed greenhouse gases by volume, not effect.
The effect of greenhouse gases on Earth's climate is a contentious issue relying for the most part on computer modeling. The entire theory of the runaway greenhouse effect is, in my opinion, questionable. Comparing Venus to Earth or Mars to Earth are classic apple-orange dichotomies, and therefore highly misleading. Perhaps I will attempt to address this issue more fully in a future post.
As for putting one's money where one's mouth is, I would recommend instead putting one's money into some warm clothing to cover one's behind just in case those admittedly arguable figures attesting to an impending cooling period turn out to be accurately predictive.
