Here are the first two, and the only ones for a long time I didn't wreck.
1949 Ford coupe, V8 with overdrive. Price, new: $1,511-$2,119 (U.S.) I paid $225 for it in 1959, with 39,000 miles.
1944 Ford Jeep, formerly a SP jeep on an aircraft carrier. In perfect shape. I paid $1,000 for it in 1960, drove the living dickens out of it.
