Cars and the accessories are so much better these days it's hard to believe. It used to be that every 20,000 miles the valves had to be ground. Brakes and tires didn't last 20,000. I can remember buying a tire on which I could see some cords. Not as bad as it sounds, they had tubes. Needed it to go a ways. A car which went 100,000 miles was remarkable. Rare. An uncle of mine had an older Chrysler which he overhauled every other year.
Power windows, seats, and door locks didn't exist and then were expensive and usually broken. Radios had tubes. Turn signals were a novelty. Air conditioning came along and was great but way inefficient. Mileage wasn't all that great.
I got brakes on my van last week. I asked how long they'd last, and was told 100,000 miles.
They really are different items.

They really aren't the same product.
