" It's just depressing that so many voters are still this stupid."

Wow, we finally agree on something. The voters in this country are some of the most uneducated in the world when it comes to politics or anything of depth for that matter. We can point to Bush's win for his second term. By the time of that election it was obvious to anyone with more than a pea for their brain that the man and his companions had some serious deficiencies and yet it instead became all about John Kerry's windsurfing.

Despite what anyone felt about Kerry's quirks and political leanings it was absolutely apparent that he could at least articulate a sentence and think through a complex thought without having his answer prepared for him. The lesser of two evils choice was a glaring neon sign and yet you holy-rolling, imperialistic assholes jumped on the jitters still left over from 9/11 and scared people away from the sane choice.

Of course I don't necessarily blame you and rest of the neo-cons. To anyone with more than an IQ of 50 and the tiniest bit of self-assurance your snake oil was apparent. The moronic voters didn't just listen but they joined right in like lemmings.

I never saw Obama as anything more than a lemming retrieval service poised right next to the brink like a Pied Piper with a better sounding flute. I and many others knew that he had to say many of the things he did to stop the stampede. Once the mindless were back nibbling grass in the pasture he could begin to actually implement some of the things. I'll consider it a successful term if he accomplishes 10% of what he promised. I'll consider it wildly successful if we can get an efficient form of universal single-payer health care.

Come to think of it, maybe I should set my sights lower. Obama's first term will be an unmitigated success if he turns you into a ranting slobbering blob. He's already close.
