TB..TB...you're breaking our hearts!
The holes in the conventional wisdom pile up. My childhood in many different city schools where the first day of school was heralded by a desk full of shiny new crayons and supplies. Buses brought kids to and from schools from all parts of town.
Now parents buy all the supplies, and we are hit up for donations of things for the whole class: paper towels. Writing paper. Kleenex. Frigging toilet paper. Buses are almost extinct--parents drive their kids to the schools.
Are you implying the huge funding of schools is actually delivering less? That money spent on education at the State and Federal level delivers squat? Surely, you know all that money is going to good causes! Just because something seems to be the case doesn't mean it is the case.
Sometime money just gets lost! Sometimes a good liberal book costs 150 dollars per book! Sometimes librarians throw away the olc conservative books prematurely and so they wait for the new correct books to arrive! Millions of reasons could be to blame for the lack of those things you mentioned!
That money is going somewhere - isn't that all that's important?
