I was a strong Bush supporter until 2006. Long before that, I voiced my displeasure at his spending, his failure at immigration, and his no child left behind program.
But in 2006 I was getting tired of his focusing totally on the war on terror and overlooking our home situation. He seemed tired and worn out. And then the bailout he did, before he left, made the conservative in me cringe to no end.
But there is more. Part of me died October 1st 2007, but part of me was reborn. Some of my old self is still there including my conservative values and my compassion, but I see the world very different now.
I won’t lie to you all. What Obama is doing now scares the pants off the conservative in me. I think it is the wrong direction. I don’t like these bailouts. I don’t like these trillions of dollars being put in the hands of politicians. I think it would be better to give this money back to us taxpayers and let us stimulate the economy with it. I want to see smaller government and less taxes.
I am hoping the conservative in me is wrong and you guys are right. There is nothing I can do about it anyway. We are on this path for better or worse. The best I can do right now is take care of my family and enjoy what time I have left on this Earth. And I still have my faith… my faith that things will work out okay end the end.
