I'm familiar with Mr S. The last time he was here he was peddling the old "water vapor is more important than carbon dioxide" anti-AGW pseudoscience. Mr S's politics are no concern of mine, I remarked he was a potential ally of yours, but it wasn't his politics I objected to, it was the creationist flavor of his evidence. It was dinosaur and human fossils together all over again, and very reminiscent of "evolution contradicts the First Law of Thermodynamics".
You see, the issue is not that AGW should be spared all criticism and be immune to attack, there are valid scientific arguments which can be used to challenge it, and which are employed by responsible critics. The problem is that a cottage industry appears to be developing that manufactures questionable evidence to muddy the issue, or to satisfy the insatiable demand of anti-AGW forces who have other motives behind their actions. This is chain email stuff, and I am baffled that someone of your scientific credentials would intervene in its behalf.
At any rate, peace has been restored to the kingdom. LS's excellent rebuttal (above) to the infamous Messers Gerlich and Tscheuschner have restored Stephan-Boltzman and the Second Law to their former glory. All's right with the world.

The whole thread (46 posts)
- Climate 'denial' is now a mental disorder
- If enough people believe anything it's considered "normal".
- The problem is that almost all consideration of global warming is VERY short-term.
- The Null Hypothesis
- Falsification of the Atmospheric Greenhouse Effect
- Gee, that's odd.
- So what you are saying is...
- Threadbare argument
- I don't even know where to start... (n/t)
- Perhaps with my first question
- No. Next? (n/t)
- And also...
- Show me the conclusive physics/models that show increasing "greenhouse gasses" produces no "greenhouse effect" (n/t)
- Good luck. For AGW there aint no such animal as falsification. ;-) (n/t)
- Oh?
- And also...
- No. Next? (n/t)
- Perhaps with my first question
- I don't even know where to start... (n/t)
- Threadbare argument
- It's not a mental disorder. They know exactly what they're doing. (n/t)
- Not surprising.
- If enough people believe anything it's considered "normal".
