I was asking why the "average" line in all these "anomaly" charts is the average of 1979 to 2000. Why not the average of 1979 to 2002? Or 2005?

February 2009 was the fourth lowest

February 2007 was the third lowest.

February 2006 was the second lowest.

February 2005 was the lowest. We'll just quietly leave 2008 out of it. Will February 2010 be the fifth lowest? 2011 the sixth?

This is the March graph from last year (we won't have March from this year for a bit)
