Hi
Unfortunately, I've been too busy over the past several weeks to have followed up on this excellent thread, which I suppose is somewhat irresponsible of me, since I started it, but more urgent responsibilities must take priority.
Beyond that, when the insults, name-calling, and other ad hom tactics begin, I try to turn the other cheek, and while I probably will not respond, I do take notice.
Just for the record, I am no creationist. Spiritually, I consider myself an agnostic. I am keenly aware that our current scientific knowledge has many gaps, and I strongly suspect that current dogma may contain errors. I know that it contains enormous "fudge factors" such as dark matter and dark energy.
As for AGW, there are many who disagree. Smith's touted refutation of Gerlich and Tscheuschner takes 9 pages, most with several calculations. I haven't been able to wade through it all, but I will note that most truths can be expressed clearly and simply. We hear a lot about heat building up in greenhouses and closed-up cars out in the sun, but not much about what happens to all that heat once the sun sets.
Thanks for the smile.

The whole thread (46 posts)
- Climate 'denial' is now a mental disorder
- If enough people believe anything it's considered "normal".
- The problem is that almost all consideration of global warming is VERY short-term.
- The Null Hypothesis
- Falsification of the Atmospheric Greenhouse Effect
- Gee, that's odd.
- So what you are saying is...
- Threadbare argument
- I don't even know where to start... (n/t)
- Perhaps with my first question
- No. Next? (n/t)
- And also...
- Show me the conclusive physics/models that show increasing "greenhouse gasses" produces no "greenhouse effect" (n/t)
- Good luck. For AGW there aint no such animal as falsification. ;-) (n/t)
- Oh?
- And also...
- No. Next? (n/t)
- Perhaps with my first question
- I don't even know where to start... (n/t)
- Threadbare argument
- It's not a mental disorder. They know exactly what they're doing. (n/t)
- Not surprising.
- If enough people believe anything it's considered "normal".
