"Trust" has been defined as "truth over time". When there has been no truth for a long time in that which some people espouse it is always fair game to point that out. In fact, it's an obligation.
Being correct once in a while is considered very nice, except of course, in the party of Palin, which is not constrained by fact, reality or issues. And considers accountability as unfair.
