So where did your outrage go?

Did you write to the President, to Homeland Security, asking for clarification to something that raised your hackles or to put in your point of view as a citizen without increasing the animosity? No, of course not. That would be responsible citizen action. I tried doing that extensively during the Bush administration. Funny thing how they never once responded.

That same thing you posted I heard at lunchtime on conservative talk radio from Glen Beck, the shining example of rational discourse. It was the talking point of the day and you never miss a beat disseminating the outrage when you think you've got something to fire the flames.

I know the character of Janet Napolitano. I've met people that worked with her and her integrity was unmatched in our state government. She was a huge supporter of the ACLU, an organization that even protects violent idiots from governmental excess. If she's putting out warnings about certain groups and behaviors publicly like this then there's true concern that violence is imminent. Obviously not every anti-abortion advocate or person with a Ron Paul sticker is violent or dangerous but, if groups are out there actively plotting sedition or homegrown terrorism and they fit those profiles, what the hell should the government be doing, keeping it a secret? That's the message I see in those government documents, not some call to start rounding up everyone with a particular bumper sticker or handing out pamphlets in front of abortion clinics.

Where's your outrage been when Limbaugh and Beck have been aggressively stirring the pot of these whackjobs? Just maybe Tom, if people like you with a voice in your party stood up to these riot-provoking chicken-hawks, the government wouldn't have to be so concerned. Your silence though is deafening and makes the rest of us think think that a good dose of whoopass from the rednecks might just be in order in your mind.
