There are several powerful lobbies which magnify and publicize all real and imagined slights to Jews. There is no comparable lobby for Muslims.

The Holocaust Memorials scattered all over the country are also designed to do the same thing. The Holocaust was terrible, inexcusable, and there have been other, worse slaughters during and after WWII. We don't hear about them.

The end result is a powerful, one-sided American tilt toward Israel, billions upon billions in foreign aid.

For instance, Israel has modern weapons for it's IDF. Airplanes, armed with cluster bombs, an army with the latest equipment and a fine navy. Israel has about 200 nuclear weapons and all manner of rockets with which to deliver them.

The Palestinians, for instance, have some rockets with 6# warheads and AK-47s.

The recent Israeli war against Gaza was compared to the Germans attacks on ghettoes.

And yet there are people on the 'Zone who believe the Palestinians are going to "drive Israel into the sea". That's the result of 60 years of powerful propaganda.

There isn't quite the sentiment in Europe because there hasn't been the lobby.

(Do the Palestinians want to "drive them into the sea"? Of course. Can they? About as effectively as the prisoners at Guantanamo can chase out the CIA.)
