I have my doubts that the images show Daphnis, or for that matter any of the shepherd moons. Their images show a distinct dot, fitting (by their nature) within their associated gap.
I understand how easy it is to see Rama in a parking orbit. But the images can also be interpreted as a stripe of illumination through the gap falling on an object with larger apparent size behind/below the ring.
That hypothesis can be checked by seeing if a known moon was in that position. Maybe...but either it was a large object sufficiently far away to not interact gravitationally with the ring, or it was a smaller object closer, but nevertheless larger than the gap and still not interacting gravitationally with the ring matter.
WTF?
He he, it might not be a cylinder, but it could be a hollow sphere. I like a good mystery. Thanks, Raoul.
