Very strange. But I do not understand, could this simply be new pictures of an already known object (perhaps Daphnis, breaking up due to some tidal interaction or collision) or of a totally new object found somewhere else in the Keeler Gap, sharing it with Daphnis? You did not make this very clear in your comments, or in the other material you posted. And what about that weird cylindrical/shape and the binuclear structure?
And I do not understand the imaging system, could the elongated shape be the artifact of a long exposure, a smear or blur, or are the images collected essentially instantaneously? I'm just speculating here, these pictures are astonishing. The interactions with the surrounding ring material tell us we are looking at matter here, not some optical illusion.
Please send us updates on this, Raoul. This is great stuff.
I'm surprised these images haven't received more publicity. And I dread what will happen when the anomalists get a hold of them.
