Reduce considerably the long stares at Mission Control

For those who have to sit at a desk staring at a computer all day,
imagine how boring it would be to WATCH someone do that all day.

This is frequently what NASA TV does during a mission, aim the cameras
in Mission Control in Houston at the people staffing the place working
at their panels. Sometimes they scratch their noses and take sips of
coffee, but that is about it. This can definitely be reduced.

I recall reading how they were going to show more images of Earth from
the ISS cameras, but I haven't seen a lot of that lately. While that
can also get dull (Earth has LOTS of cloud cover), it would still beat
watching people sitting at a computer screen for many long minutes.

I would also like to see more historical films about NASA, unless they
are concerned that their glory days make the current ISS missions pale
in comparison (which they usually do). The HST mission was an obvious
exception, but there won't be anything like it again at least for NASA for
a number of years.

Their educational programs are clearly low budget and not always very
interesting, but they are potentially useful for kids and curious adults
alike, so perhaps a little beefing up is in order there. NASA should not
try to act cool and hip with these programs as they sometimes do, as
it just comes across like the parents of a teenager trying to act younger
than they are, and that's usually just embarassing for all parties.

NASA needs to show the world that they can and do do some of the
coolest stuff of just about any agency and it does not require trying to
be trendy. I can't believe they can't afford at least a little money from
their budget to improve their educational and documentary programs.
A Nova level of quality now and then can't possibly hurt.
