In modern America, people are realizing that unless you organize, you are not going to get your voice heard or your agenda on the table. It has nothing to do with what's right or wrong, it's who wins. It's a struggle, an ugly process, and it isn't always fair, but it beats fighting in the streets. This is how democracy works, through politics, and it doesn't always yield the right solutions.
This kind of thinking is what's frightening me. Power divorced from principle as the norm, or even the definition of democracy, and the victories going to the largest gang, or more often, the most powerful. Did you really think my response came out of the clear blue sky?
