re: Why not?

All mysteries offer the imagination of a person to look for an answer to the mystery and sometimes they find the answer.

Take UFO's for instance, if I say that such things can not and have not ever existed, then I will have to conclude that there is no mystery, and if I say that, then that thought will kill the imagination that is essential for progress.
If on the other hand I listen to people and believe them when they say that they have witnessed some strange things such as UFO's, then that will give me the opportunity to figure out what the reality is.
Such as:
Can the observation be explained by conventional means, such as meteors, airplanes, rockets, planets, balloons, mirages, hallucinations, etc.
If it can not be explained by such means, then it is a true mystery, and true mysteries always need to have an answer. Some people like to solve mysteries.

Suppose several people sight a wingless airplane hovering motionless in the air and then a few seconds later the object takes off at a fantastic speed, a speed that can not be matched with any airplane or rocket technology of today's design, not only that, if the object was simultaneously tracked on radar and airplanes were sent to intercept the objects, then I would think that an object actually was there and it behaved the way the people described.
That in my opinion would be a true mystery.

I am a curious person, I would like to know how a solid object could behave in such a manner.
Since such behaviour is a mystery, I would need to imagine the answer.

Imagination can be pure fantasy or it can be related to science.

It has been suggested that the mentioned mysterious behaviour of a solid object could be explained by supposing that the gravitational field is controlled both internally and externally within the vicinity of the object.

I do not know about you, but I can imagine how the gravitational field can be controlled.

By the way, how many patents do you have? I only have two, so far.
