It is a lamentable fact that those in the sciences are still mostly male
and still mostly stereotyped as mentioned previously. Some of it is even
more sadly true and will probably remain so so long as educational
institutions continue to focus on results over the well-being of those
they utilize.
For a while in the 1950s and very early 1960s the scientist was given
an elevated position in America, even if it was just to beat the Soviets
in space and elsewhere.
And Lindy, please don't treat me like I am clueless or against progress
being made in our knowledge and awareness of existence. It gets both
tiring and a bit insulting to what little intelligence I do have after a while.
And I could mention that these "gurus" you look up to are a bunch of
hucksters, either deliberately or delusionally, but I know where that
will lead.
And the biggest ones like to play with the quantum realm because of its
inherently strange properties compared to our reality and the fact that
they know most people can't or won't investigate quantum physics
beyond what these self-appointed "experts" tell them.
Most quantum effects are too small to affect our level of existence, for starters.

Referring to our level of reality, for just a moment

- Because it's fun for them. A concept with which you may not be familiar.
- I like exotic positions
