Lots of variations possible. For instance the artilects might, just for a lark, or to prove an artistic point, recreate S. sapiens from genetic scratch, turning corners that more random evolution passed by. Neo-humans, as opposed to archaeo-humans, would be intellectually inferior to artilects, but excruciatingly beautiful to archaeo-humans, who would launch into asymmetric love affairs with them, only to be dashed upon despair. The neo-humans would reach new heights of artistic expression, but realize from the get-go that they were the art project of the artilects, and would eventually either suicide or go for a generous upload package.
Archaeo-humans ultimately would just continue droning on, within subtle bounds almost imperceptably managed by artilect culture (perhaps linked now to your suggestion of an extended artrilect culture reaching even to Andromeda). However bear in mind that artilects would have their own existential perplexities and dark intrigues, even if they could construct a more "sustainable" (just an aesthetic term) social system than have we. Suffering and tragedy are inescapable, and are perhaps intensified in proportion to increased intellectual capacity.
