Light bombers (I think that's what they are called - the ones after early bombers), are awesome. They are the best anti-navy weapon around (I completely destroyed Japan's naval supremacy with about 10 of them). And they do a number on land forces as well. Further research into bombers is a waste unless you figure out a way to make economic warfare profitable.

A couple more observations I just remembered:

- China is an incredibly wealthy country (Who knew?). Once I got some food production issues out of the way, I could bought up a huge surplus of metal, coal, and oil from the world markets. I also bought all the goods and arms that the market would bequeath - but that was not very much.
