Re: Re: Yellow History

I never meant to imply there was nothing good on TV, if nothing else, you may recall how I raved about HBO's "Rome" a few months (or was it years?) ago. And there are many other good shows, too. But it is sad when commercial cable networks do the right thing and stick out their necks to create top quality product and the public does not respond by patronizing them. "Rome" cost a fortune to produce and was a critical success, but HBO took a financial bath on it, which is why they cancelled the third season. Now the set in Italy has burned down and the crew and artists moved on to other projects. I guess we'll never get to find out what happened to the Julians now...especially little Tiberius and Claudius!

Still, it is so sad when outfits like Discovery and History, with a reputation for class programming, have to resort to Yellow science and yellow history to stay in business. The public has no one to blame but itself.
