Such activity has given birth to every tyranny in history. You don't need intelligence to create a tyranny. You need it to create a free and prosperous society. Thinking people are hard to rule. The corollary to this is that tyrants prefer a population that is stupid and ignorant. Think about this when you consider where America's learning and information comes from nowadays.
