Between government and businesses, only one of them takes my money at gunpoint. Businessmen don't tell me what I can eat, what lightbulbs I can use in my house, how my toilet should work, and many other intrusions into my life.
Markets are about choices. Government is about control. If I have to move toward one extreme or the other, I know which direction I would pick.
If you want, we could tally up the consequences of unrestricted markets against governments that have too much power. What was the economic and mortality toll of the Gilded Age compared to any communist nation you care to name? During the heyday of the Robber Barons, which way were the immigrants moving? And why?
Sounds like you're all too eager to pick up some of those torches and pitchforks. I guess the demonizing is working.
P.S. "law and the courts" and "control of community resources" are not interchangable terms.
