The sails of the Left were filled for a few months at the end of last year when they rode a lot of anger and discontent into office at all levels. Mostly by pretending to be anything other than leftist, lying about their goals and views, and riding the momentum of the 2006 elections.
Remember 2006? They got a load of Blue Dogs elected in red districts (and boy is that coming back to bite them). Won the Congress with a margin of 31 seats (the Republican margin in 1994 was 26), and then disavowed any responsibility whatsoever for anything that happened in government between January of 2007 and November of 2008.
America is now getting a good look at what leftism accomplishes in practice. Economic stagnation and destruction, hapless confusion on foreign policy, and a program of attacking and looting the productive while grabbing for as much political and financial power as possible.
If there's any policy gap left between the current Democratic Party and the Greens, I don't know what it is.
Good luck next year. I think I hear surf pounding on rocks up ahead.
