Doing it over
I've got an idea. How about shooting for a system where it wasn't so all-fired critical to our lives who was President or Senator at the national level?
My step one for any livable system of government: Keep ANYONE from getting too much power. If you hold to that, nothing else in the system, parties or whatever, can do too much damage.
The seemingly perennial dream of the "good Czar" has destroyed a lot of lives.
