Re: Touchy

The very fact that the new law has to devote half its verbiage to go after people who are already doing something demonstrably against the old law (the employers) when that should not have even been legislatively necessary, tells me that the same arguments the Right has used to slam the illegals have not been equally applied to the white businessmen who are the root cause of the problem. This is the hypocrisy I was sarcastically pointing out in my piece. Lee has pointed this aspect out several times in previous posts, you have only grudgingly brought it up when you needed it to support your defense of the legislation.

So spare me the obscure baseball metaphors and indignant Tory bristling and accompanying smokescreen, OK? You don't make a very convincing victim. You know perfectly well that I support this law precisely because it goes after both sides. And I have already gone on record in earlier posts that I do not agree with the Liberal objections to the legislation because the illegals are indeed illegal, even if they have been enticed into their crimes by the patriotic gringo sleazeball businessmen who have profitted from not only breaking the law, but in making it possible for millions of others to do so (not to mention the Mexican criminal underclass that preys on the immigrants and helps administer the exploitation). But of course, Tommy has never met a businessman who could possibly do any wrong. They must be protected from scrutiny and exposure at all costs or the Libs might score a point.

Can't you see why so much effort and money and propaganda has gone into talk of border guards, walls, fences, militias, star wars perimeter tech and even special legislation when the true cause of the problem is staring us in the face, and so easy to correct? Does your visceral need to make excuses for these Stetson-wearing scumbag Warbucks make it impossible for you to conceive that maybe the whole anti-immigrant backlash is a front designed to divert attention from the true cause of the problem? Did it ever occur to you that maybe there is another huge and powerful DOMESTIC constituency (besides illiterate Mexicans and Eastern Establishment Liberals) that are probably working feverishly behind the scenes to make sure their supply of cheap labor continues uninterrupted? They did it to the blacks and the Chinese, why should the Mexicans (and now, Central Americans) be exempt? There are lots of big-money interests in the West who have been behind immigration reforms like "amnesty", including George Bush. Do you really think they are all motivated solely by compassion?

Follow the money, TOM. It ain't Mexican braceros and NYT journalists and urban do-gooders who are getting rich off these victims. It good ole white boys, pillars of the entrepreneurial community; and they know that the flow of cheap, scared, docile workers will never stop as long as the citizen booboisie is squawking hysterically on the border instead of looking in their own back yards.

So spare us all the self-righteous indignation, and don't insult all of our intelligences by nagging us to "read the legislation". Quit covering up and making excuses for this slime and look into your own heart for a change. You know I'm right, for once, be a man and admit it.
