I live in an area where my vote on state representation and national representation counts for nothing. There are many more Democrats here than Republicans, and of course other parties are right out. To be sure, there are other places where the Democrats are the ones frozen out.
Should we enact a different voting system to ensure that we have a better shot at representation in a district where our party is a minority? If not, why not?
Or is race the only criteria for balance in politics?
It would be interesting if the Enlightened were as concerned about diversity of ideas as they were about diversity of epidermal melanin levels.
