Only to some people.

The entire significance of a middle-class grassroots movement has completely escaped you. You cling to one marginal website as the linchpin of the movement, ignoring the ideas, ignoring the larger trends, and ignoring anything that's actually significant. To you it's all about the guns, or soccer, or how many white people are in it.

The actual "tea party" movement has no entrance requirements, no rules, and no centralized leadership. Protests are largely locally organized, and anyone claiming to be a "leader" of the movement is treated with suspicion at best, and hostility at worst. You can be a politician and claim to agree with the movement (true or not), but you'd better not try to set yourself at the head of it.

In other words, it's everything liberals and leftists are not as far as worship of the kind of centralized control displayed in the DU "rules." Small wonder so many on the left seem to find the real "tea party" movement incomprehensible.

You don't get it, Robert. I'm beginning to think you can't. And it's interesting you complain about the lack of intellectualism in the conservative/libertarian movement, yet can't seem to deal directly with anyone who argues from that direction.
