why?

Jody, what you wrote is very "tea partyish", in that, to my eye, you're expressing pure emotion, primarily fear and hatred, but nowhere in what you say is there anything concrete. It's not that what you say is true or false, it's simply that you're not actually saying anything whose truth can be determined. I know how you and the tea partiers feel because that's all that tea partiers talk about. They're more than a little short on actual ideas.

You fear President Obama and say "Obama must be stopped", but you (and the tea partiers) never say what he must be stopped from doing. What is it you fear? That we all might have health care? Oooooh, scary!!! Uh, let's see, I'd make more jokes along those lines but I can't think of anything else Obama's accomplished to even that half-assed degree. What the hell do you imagine that Obama is doing besides endlessly making speeches?

What will Obama do to hang himself? That expression means that its subject is secretly doing wrong and will be punished for it someday...any chance you can explain the crimes you think that President Obama has committed or is trying to commit? You do remember that he won the election in 2008, don't you? Trying to implement a handful of the policies he promised to implement and for which the election forms a legitimate mandate is not exactly criminal. At least not on Earth.

How would you define "this segment in our history"? Do you share the conservative goal of wiping out all of the changes since FDR was elected in 1932? You really look back on the Great Depression as America's Golden Age?

Jody, a lot of people are getting sucked into the tea party movement because it offers gratification for people's basest emotions. You find the world scary, and the cult of the tea bag offers companionship and the validation of knowing that there are other people who are just as scared as you.

But most important, it offers a ready scapegoat upon whom you can pin all the world's troubles: The Damn Liberals.

If only you could get rid of the damn Liberals, the world would be a paradise! It's all so simple when you drink the kool-aid.
