Re: Learning your twinkles

What is really "silly" is that some people need to try and inflate these people into some vanguard of the future of America. What is sad is that I know why they're trying to do it. The Democrats and liberals are trying to generate their own "Tea Party" movement. The Tea Party movement didn't need hand signals, or generate chaotic and noisy environments. They didn't get arrested, didn't leave property damage, and didn't have to try to work this hard to generate a single "mass mind." Come to that, civil rights marchers didn't need to "twinkle" either.

You don't get it. I'm not spending time filtering through the countless videos looking for the ones that make them look stupid or frankly, nuts. I have endless choices practically thrust on me from dozens of website every day. I haven't shown the anti-semitic rants, the threats of violence, or the outright lunatics. Things that would have been headlines for days if they had been this common at a Tea Party rally.

I put this stuff up because the Democratic Party - at the leadership level - is currently solidly embracing this. "This is what the Democrats are all about. This is the future of our country under our leadership." By all means, go for it. Note carefully that the "mainstream" Republican Party leadership was never this fond of the Tea Party people, and probably still isn't.

Any liberal here is welcome to seek out the philosophers, the reasoned discussions, the real intellectual activity at these demonstrations. Put the videos up, or the news stories. I suggest digging a bit deeper than Michael Moore or Jesse Ventura.

ER, you're running on fumes defending this. The political movement you're siding with has no brain, and that these wanderers represent "99 percent" of anything is ludicrous by any conceivable measurement. By all rights, intelligent liberals should be the ones who are scared.

Anyway, I give this another couple of weeks before the Democratic Party quietly sneaks away from this phenomenon, and the press obediently follows. Wait for it.
