Re: Learning your twinkles

Irony. Conservatives say they believe that capitalism is a superior economic system, generates innovation and promotes the economic well-being of the masses.

And they believe communism is crushes the individual, is inefficient and by it's very weaknesses is doomed to failure. And that socialism is the same as communism.

And yet they are clearly frightened nearly to death by anything which smacks of public ownership of anything. One poster here claimed all people with Democratic Party registration are socialists if not communists.

Why, if capitalism is so very superior, are they so frightened?

Why do these same people promote socialism for large corporations? Subsidys for farm products, pharmeceutical companies, arms makers, airplane makers, banks, ranchers, and even Big Oil are promoted by Republicans even while ostensibly promoting capitalism.

How can they reconcile that in their own minds? What kind of mind could reconcile that?

It's a puzzlement. I can think of one answer, but it's too painful to accept. I don't want to believe it.
