But unless you believe that the wealthy have tax shelters to greatly lower their income, the “rich” are going to enjoy a huge tax cut- from 35% to 9%.
And capital gains would not be taxed at all. I don't know what the CG tax rate is today but I know when I had a rental property years ago and sold it because it was too much for me to take care of, I lost my shirt, my underwear and my shoes to the government. I can agree to some tax on it but damn, they wanted the whole thing if you hadn't made a huge profit. My profit was very modest so I ended up in the hole.
