Paul Krugman has devolved in recent columns into a long Marxist primal scream. This is his latest. Everything in this column is wrong. The crime, in Krugman's mind, is to leave trillions of dollars in the private sector to create new wealth rather than let the government devour it on useless stupidity.
See his "$4 trillion in lost revenue over the next decade?" Over the past decade, the ANNUAL Federal government budget has increased by almost $1.3 trillion. Right now we're spending $1.3 trillion a year more than we were in 2001. Every single year. So in only THREE years, even assuming the budget is frozen right now, we will use up $4 trillion in government spending that we weren't spending ten years ago.
Maybe, just maybe, the spending is the problem?
Remember, to them the entire problem is that the State is not large enough, and not looting enough from the productive.
