Re: Class Warfare

Yeah, the "gap between the rich and the poor" is one of the standards trotted out by those who really think we should be stealing more from the rich and giving it to those who will reliably keep voting for the crooks. Oh, um, I mean "giving it to the poor."

Ever actually think about that? What does it mean? There is genuine hatred for the wealthy because it is deliberately ginned up by the Marxists both inside and outside politics. It's worked for them before, and the end result is usually a country where the gap is even larger, but the only rich are the political leaders. It worked in France, too, with a nice dictatorship as the result. If the poor are created by capitalism, as the mythology insists, why are nations where capitalism is eliminated so damn full of poor people? Except, again, for the leaders and their cronies.

Somewhere behind this crap is the brainless idea that the rich somehow "got" their money from the poor. There is no mechanism at all to back this idea up. It floats out there unsupported, like a loose fart. If you actually follow the money, it all goes the other way. The rich pay the vast majority of the taxes in this country, and every government handout that hasn't been borrowed or printed up out of nothing comes out of that money.

The wealthy are the engine that powers this nation. Every private job in this country was created by somebody who had more money than he needed. The socialists in our government would very much like you not to figure this all out. They're counting on American stupidity and ignorance. They are so contemptuous of their constituents' intelligence that they openly wallow in luxury themselves, flying private jets and owning multiple homes while at the same time deriding the rich.

Hate the rich? Not one damn dime of Bill Gates' money came unwillingly out of my pocket, or anyone else's. Not one nickel of Sam Walton's billions was taken from me by force. No millionaire has ever claimed the right to tell me how to live, what to buy, or how to run my business. I don't lose sleep wondering if Steve Jobs is going to do something stupid that will screw up my life.

I can make this shorter: Almost everything you believe about economics is wrong.
