I read Obama's budget documents. You're the one quoting the blogs and media idiots.
Table S-6, from the Summary Tables. At no point between 2012 and 2021 in his document do the budget outlays, corrected for inflation and population growth, get smaller from one year to the next. At no point do the adjusted deficts drop below half a trillion dollars.
Other interesting assumptions, too. Inflation never gets above 2.1 percent. Unemployment never drops below 5.3 percent. Bush had unemployment rates lower than that for three straight uninterrupted years while liberals screamed about the crappy economy.
The Left is rising to the challenge, trying to show us that more spending and more taxes are the route to prosperity. They have learned nothing from Europe, nothing from history, and nothing from their own results. Of course, I suppose if someone is able to learn, they eventually stop being a leftist.
To believe that we MUST have a budget of $3.8 trillion to survive, double the 1988 budget in constant dollars, shows a form of dementia. I can't think of any other way to put it.
